It's always hard to judge the quality of a pressing with lo-fi albums like this, but it does the album justice. I didn't hear any crackles or pops (that aren't supposed to be there) and the mastering is as good as I recall the CD being. It's a great album and for an impulse buy while shopping for books with my girlfriend I have no buyer's remorse.

Side A had some pops during quieter parts, but Side B had a near constant pop/crackle in the background. I was even hearing them throughout the the louder parts of “Lover I Don’t Have to Love”.
This was after cleaning both sides twice. :(
I’m listing this immediately & just gonna order one of the Ludwig remasters that RTI pressed a few years back.
I have most of the remasters in my
collection already but never had anything this discouraging.
I just thought I’d see if these new Dead Oceans 2022 reissues were worth it, but I don’t think I’ll be taking any more chances.
The vinyl doesn’t have scuff marks or anything physically wrong with it, but the records are littered with that “gloss ghosting”. Idk what else to call it lol, it’s like permanent holographic brush strokes that you can only see held under the light. :( anybody know what I’m talking about? 😅 -
A few pops in silent ages on LP1 even after a cleaning. A1 sets up the album for some nice dynamic contrast.
