Like others have mentioned here, the packing of this release is quite great. "Chance" has long been a favorite of mine, so hearing it here was a real treat! The stereo separation throughout the harmony part is fabulous! I think it sounds great, considering its on just one record. This album has always held a special place in my heart, as it was my introduction to the band.

In 2022, the first official LP edition of the Savatage Handful Of Rain album was released.
I purchased edition on the blue transparent vinyl in addition to the unofficial 2006 release.
The disc of 2006 sounds very nice and harmonious. The rhythm section has a pleasant pulsing dynamics, guitars and vocals are reproduced in detail. The sound picture is deep, panoramic.
The 2022 edition has a higher volume level, but the guitars sound harsh and rough, with noticeable distortion. Bass guitar, drums and vocals sound acceptable. On the other hand, the printing quality of the official edition is incomparably better: a beautiful gatefold, a 12-page booklet and an exclusive slipmat.
I will keep both editions in my collection. One of them is good in content, and the other is good in design. -
Fortunately very nice sound to this vinyl record that we expected for years! It was fair for this great musicians!

So, I can say that both the Handful of Rain and Edge of Thorns 2022 colored vinyl releases each sound great to my ears. I gave them both a thorough dry and then wet cleaning before giving them a spin and the records are flat and there is very little if any surface noise present. Im very pleased with these pressings -
Pressing quality and mastering seem to be good on this one. I will try to compare this to 2006 bootleg later.
