Reviews

Just got a mint copy, contrary to other comments here, it sounds fantastic. No surface noise, disk is flawless. Took extra care in removing disk from inner, as it was full of static electricity.
-
Lou Reed essential. Worth the price of ission to listen to these songs in such a raw and intimate state, like stepping back in history to hear them for the first time. My pressing sounds clear and clean.
-
Mediocre pressing, but decent source for studio outtakes and demos. cool bunch of material to have for Lou Reed fans.
-
I had 2 copies of this US version. The first had insane scratches that ticked. I returned it and got a replacement. It looks a lot better but still has lots of surface noise after cleaning. I don't think I'd recommend this one over the European version if you live in Europe. It's a pretty budget pressing.
However, this is like a glimpse into a private living room performance of early versions of these classic songs and I'd still suggest you seek it out if you are a fan. I just would expect some surface noise and be pleasantly surprised if you don't have any. Recommended, surface noise or not. -
Why did they leave out the last few songs of the original 17 track compilation? They were short enough to fit into a single record.
-
I have this US pressing and had no issues.
If you are Lou Reed fan this an essential press I believe. Great to hear these songs in their infancy -
Seems there are a lot of complaints about the quality of the “worldwide” pressing of this record. I have this pressing and it is perfect. Vinyl was not dirty or scratched. There is one VERY light scuff that I can only see under strong light - and I might have done that myself… vinyl is flat, labels centered, all is well with my US pressing
