I've fallen mostly out of love with dark ambient as of late, but Robert Rich sure knows how to put a lively twist on it. Next to Stalker, this is certainly one of his dreariest releases, but in a good way. Love a lot of the sound textures on this, especially on Liquid Air and my favorite of the album A Flock Of Metal Creatures Fleeing The Onslaught Of Rust.

A very Lustmord-esque void of darkness, a black pit where time and space does not exist. Your senses pick up the trembling of a sonic pulse rushing fast towards you. It feels like it is increasing in intensity while at the same time closing in on you very fast. Unable to resist this mesmeric experience you remain staring into the darkness unable to notice anything, until suddenly it hits you with its full force.

Resonating inside your body, encoming your mind for a very brief but intense moment, it es through you with immense speed and continues beyond. You stand there trying to realise what just happened when you hear the next sonic wall rapidly getting closer, and this one promises to be even more intense.
