Edited one year agoIt's never going to be a Steely Dan one step for audio recording quality but we know that, but what we have here is a very dynamic pressing, flat vinyl, well centred, quiet vinyl.
Also this thing will test out your systems low

My copy is really noisy on Side A even after cleaning. It came in a paper sleeve. Not sure if it's micro scratches or the source material, but it's just super noisy. Side B is better
-
Obviously it's a hardcore record and not a Miles Davis one step... but my copy came severely scuffed from the paper inner and a massive scratch down the whole of side 1. Absolutely pish. Great album - shame about the hideous surface noise. Fuck paper inners.

How very un- punk / un- hardcore to moan about the poor quality cover art!
How very un- punk / un- hardcore to want a crisp better quality recording than the tin- can bathtub original!
(I love the original, its what I'm used to; but, have to say this brings the music to life somewhat & great to hear it)

Edited 2 years agoKnowing the fact that it all comes from a lo-fi cassette, it's great to have it today on a beautiful wax. Did you see the nice label on the vinyl with the lightning hitting your spin ? Man, it's a five stars release ! Period.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever have a copy of this that sounds this good. All praise to those who did the remaster and actual pressing.
-
This really is the best this album has ever sounded. I'm so glad they didn't put out a big fancy gatefold and jack up the price. The more accessible such an essential pressing is, the better.
-
Great stuff, especially for the cheap price I was able to snag it for. Ignore the turbo-nerds whining about the artwork, it's just fine.
