I can see what people are saying. The bass is there but it's muted. If it had been brought out more this would have been fuller sounding. It is focused on the mids (which is great for bringing Curtis' vocals to the forefront). Very little noise, flat vinyl, and good packaging. Not bad overall, just seems like a missed opportunity to make the definitive version since they did everything else right.

Great album but I agree with reviewers who state that it's 2D sounding. A bit disappointing after several listens.

Mines is dead silent out of the sleeve without a clean. Great instrument separation. Beautiful tipon gatefold. Great slip map. Great sound. Not sure what's with all the negative comments.
Listening to this is in audiophile headphones makes this album make sense. It's insanely silent. The soundstage is massive. The separation is huge. Everything is balanced. It needs to be cranked up loud to appreciate how good this is -
Great packaging, but I'm pretty disappointed in the sound here. Previous critical comments are valid. I actually think my burned CD from a friend's vinyl sounds better.
-
One of the quietest records I’ve heard. Sound quality is phenomenal and the packaging is right there with it!
-
Wow, amazing pressing, sounds really good, both records play very quiet and flat pressing. Packaging is A+
I have an original pressing and this one stands on it's own.
-
Something is missing from the sound of this remastered album. All the instruments and vocals are being delivered on the pressing but sonically the soundstage is so 2D that all the soul seems drained from the sonic experience. I’m going to look for the original pressing to see if that sounds any better.

on first listen I think disc 2 sounds a bit 'fresher' than the original album, seems a bit of congestion on the first disc, no sibilance and dead silent, just missing that 'something'....a solid effort for sure and packaging is well done. I'll give it a clean and see what happens...
-
Sound is solid. My discs were flat and quiet. Caveat is I have not heard other pressings of this, but it sounds pretty good and I don't have any complaints.
