This LP is worth having for the astonishing artwork and photos (Death In June in WWII German camouflage and masks inspired a whole generation of future neofolk fans), as well as the beautiful side A. "Break The Black Ice", sung by Rose McDowell, is even more precious and fragile, and Tibet's delirious interpretation of "Rule Again" puts together a rewarding darkwave anthem, even if deprived of the martial quality of the glorious original. The problem with "1888" is side B, where you find two unaltered songs from Current 93's "Swastikas For Noddy" and two forgettable fill-ins. "Emptiness Itself" is a completely, well, empty groove. Nice joke, David!
