Overall solid press, have a little surface noise on the run outs but nothing too bad. Excellent soundstage, dynamic with excellent separation. Sounds like U2 in a large room, like it’s supposed to. It’s big and clear. The mix and mastering captures this beautifully. If you’re looking for U2 that sounds huge, buy Achtung Baby. This is “in a room” with U2. A must have for any fan.

Compared to the original US Island CD I've played umpteen times, this pressing sounds richer and more detailed, with greater depth to the low end and a more organic soundstage. Definitely a keeper. My copy plays nice and clean, I noticed a single faint pop during "With Or Without You", otherwise no surface noise of note.

If I'm reading his statement correctly, this was done AAA according to Scott Sedillo https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/chris-bellman-appreciation-thread.273865/page-18#post-33852351

Edited 4 months agoNon-fill through the first two minutes of 'Red Hill Mining Town', my favorite song on the album.
Of course.
Had to buy a second copy (which thankfully had no issues). -

Well the packaging is nice, there are no doubts there, mine came with front sticker Double heavyweight vinyl on front right top of shrink, also with a small Made in sticker on rear left of shrink. Rear cover has Made in printed, run outs are the same as quoted above with BJ 80401-01, for Optimal media Gmbh. Vinyl is in 2 Black paper poly lined sleeves, there is a lyric/pic booklet, additionally there are 2 thicker paper printed sleeves, one Gold backed rear with white Joshua tree, the front with Edge in left foreground Bono to the right, Adam behind and Larry behind Edge. One is Black backed with a Gold Joshua tree with Bono, Larry behind then Edge and Adam all at right side of print on the front.
i dont quite get what people are going goo goo over. Literally brand new Nude Diamond on my Shure V15 type V, i listened to a NOS copy of Australian release Reader Digest Abba 5 x lp from 1982 while i was cleaning this copy fresh out of the liners and that sounds better than this, better separation and soundstage. Sounds like its just been cut hotter according to my bottle amp, it's just an ok pressing, and not totally quiet either. The OG must be a really poor cut if this is supposed to be the Ducks nuts, its not some sort of a magical Unicorn of a pressing sprinkled in Fairy dust and by the amount of releases of this album i cant say i am surprised. To sum up, i still havn't found what i'm looking for. -
Mine (factory sealed) came with two black polylined inners in which the records are housed. The glossy printed inner sleeves were stored inside the gatefold. Excellent packaging.

Amazing pressing. Almost none (not to say 0) surface noise. Great and clear sound. Perfect levels on everything. A must have pressing.
-
Fantastic pressing, flat and super quiet. Can hear the bass and drums clearly and dynamically. Great issue and master!

Sounds pretty great to me, although I'm missing the booklet and I got a third record slipcover. Also missing the code. Anyone else encounter this?
