The Joshua Tree is U2's fifth studio album and was released on 9 March 1987 (UK and US) / 10 Mar 1987 (Europe). It won the 1988 Grammy award for Album Of The Year and saw the band on the cover of Time magazine billed as 'Rock's Hottest Ticket.'
It entered the US album charts at No. 7 and reached No. 1 three weeks later. It was U2's first album to reach No. 1 in the United States. In 1999, it was awarded the RIAA's highest certification, Diamond, with 10 million units sold. The album also peaked at No. 1 on the UK, Canadian, West German, Dutch and Australian charts. In Switzerland, the album reached No. 1 on the charts and stayed there for a total of 33 weeks.
The album and sleeve cover also placed No. 1 in Rolling Stone magazine's annual Music Awards chosen by readers. Critics there made it their No. 2 album of the year. U2 also won Best Rock Performance By A Group Or Duo at the Grammy Awards for the album.

What new can be said about such an iconic album?
I grew up hearing U2 songs even though I never purchased this album when it was first released.
This anniversary release was just too good to . Not only do you get the album but also heaps of bonus material as well, which makes this purchase very much worthwhile.
As for the main album, it suffers from being top heavy. The first half of the album are the singles, the popular tunes that everyone seems to know. The second half of the album were the songs that I did not know. But over time, I have learnt to appreciate how good this album is.
Is it their best? Personally, other albums are way better (when they stopped being “American” and went more “European”). But I can’t ignore how amazing this album is, and the legacy that it produced. Whether you like it or not, one cannot ignore the fact that it is a highlight in U2’s career.

Overall solid press, have a little surface noise on the run outs but nothing too bad. Excellent soundstage, dynamic with excellent separation. Sounds like U2 in a large room, like it’s supposed to. It’s big and clear. The mix and mastering captures this beautifully. If you’re looking for U2 that sounds huge, buy Achtung Baby. This is “in a room” with U2. A must have for any fan.

"With printer company credit" - what does that mean? Has it something to do with the lyric sheet or? -
Compared to the original US Island CD I've played umpteen times, this pressing sounds richer and more detailed, with greater depth to the low end and a more organic soundstage. Definitely a keeper. My copy plays nice and clean, I noticed a single faint pop during "With Or Without You", otherwise no surface noise of note. -

Had to buy a second copy (which thankfully had no issues). -
mine is U26 A-1 U-1 - 0 -4 (the zero could be an "Oh" and its stamped deeper than the rest) maybe a D stamped on the other side. Its very lightly stamped. U26 B-1 U1 - 3 - and townhouse dmm in script. This was bought by me in London on the day of release. Still sounds great. No idea what its worth.
