What a GREAT pressing! Extremely quiet surface, very good pressing and outstanding master. I love it!

Edited 4 years agoBeing a huge 2Pac fan since the mid 90s I can tell you that I am really pleased with this release. I do not know how the original pressing sounds but I have the CD and the dynamics are so much better here. It is a more pleasant listening experience compared to the CD that has soso dynamics ( DR = 8 ). I need to crank up the volume on this release but the bass is great and the drums sound very nice, too. For the price ( ca. 25 € ) a worthwhile acquisition. ( Btw I am playing this using a Ortofon 2M Black cartridge with Mani Shiit phono preamp ). I love this album to death and it will always be one of my favourite albums of all times. I believe it is a more truthful representation of who 2Pac really was. All Eyez On Me is a great album too, but it is a much less personal album compared to its predecessor. [ Playing this using an Ortofon 2M Black cartridge. ]

Amazing edition, sounds fantastic! Good, deep bass without overpowering Pac's voice. The cohension between the beats and vocals are overall stunning! I'm happy they put so much effort in these kind of pressings.

Edited 4 years agoThis is really a great pressing ! Powerful bass but with a lot of overall depth, while still sounding organic. Obviously the album was well mixed from the start, but this is exactly the sound it deserves on vinyl. Do not hesitate !

Echoeing what everyone else said. They did the best they could with this and it shows they put an effort into it. If you're a fan of this album, you'll definitely love it!

Edited 5 years agoI got this because it was my favorite 2Pac album when I was younger. I have always loved the depth and range displayed here on this, as I believe this is also his most "lyrical" effort. While the beats and production on AEOM and Makaveli are superior, this feels like the best representation of 2Pac in my opinion.
I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of this record, especially for such a large scale operation like UMe. I heard a lot of good things about the THUG LIFE release (which I was tempted to get, but had to wait to hear what others were saying). They could have easily done a quick cash grab and slapped just about anything out there. But, it's clear in all aspects they were very intentional about doing this "right". The jacket is nice and sturdy, wide spine. Discs are nice and flat, clean solid 180g. Everything feels up to expectations. It sounds fantastic. very punchy and the bass was nice a heavy without being overpowering. For a Hip-Hop record this was remastered and pressed exactly how you'd like it to be. There's not a lot of dynamic range musically (highs to lows in of volume and depth) on the album, but the dead wax was very quiet and it's mixed nice and low. As others have mentioned I doubt that this is an analog mastering from original tapes (i'm not even sure the original source was done on quality tapes anyway). I don't think that matters here. They clearly went with trying to get the best sound on wax for maximum enjoyment.
Very pleased with this record. Was very skeptical purchasing and was a bit of a leap of faith here.... but very very happy. If you love this album already then there should be no reservations going ahead and grabbing a copy. -
Any know if this is from analog master? Looking forward to this, but the digital remaster of "All Eyez on Me" is junk, that's Death Row tho....
