Edited 7 months agoThis 2008 Rainbo pressing sounds great! Way better than the current reissue. Beautiful, crisp artwork, with a gatefold jacket.
I also have the 2022 Polish mispress version, with the most hilariously bad, pixelated artwork I've ever seen for an "official" release. Do yourselves a solid and get an older pressing, at least from 2020 or older to avoid disappointment, but I digress. In conclusion, this 2008 pressing is worth picking up! -
I bought a copy new on amazon and was very concerned when I saw the grainy front cover and inlay. It's so pixelated, I thought it was a bootleg... then I looked at this comment section I was worried about the sound as well.
But it sounds really, REALLY nice! What a relief! My copy didn't have any hype sticker on it. -
I bought this when it came out and my copy sounds amazing!! I really try not to play it but once a year.

Edited 2 years agoFair Warning. There are copies of the gatefold without the "made in Poland" sticker and non pixelated cover that still has the live acoustic version of Sleeping Beauty. I got a copy from my local place and was excited it wasn't the pixelated version, however, the discs were exactly the same. They just put it in gatefold sleeves. Make sure you get the album WITH the Capitol Records sticker on it, it seems like it is the only way to get the complete album.

Bought this back when it came out. Haven't played this record in a long while, so I thought I would give it a spin because for the first time on a proper setup. Damn, it sounds great.

Just received a brand new copy with the capitol gold sticker and very happy to say it sounds amazing. Easily one of my best sounding albums.

Sound quality is great on my copy. No surface noise that I could detect. One of the best sounding MJK related vinyl in the collection aside from Fear Inoculum. Got my copy used in near mint condition from Reckless Records in Wicker Park. Word of advice the records are stored in plain paper sleeves so get them in MoFi inners ASAP after purchasing. My copy has inaudible scuffs from the paper sleeves but the discs play fine with no skips. Very pleased to finally have this gem in the collection, and I plan on getting Thirteenth Step next!

Edited 2 years agoTo me this Capitol 2008 reissue sounds great, bough new and I was immediately worried because estetically vinyl don't look good at all but the quality is pristine, no surface noise and punchy, dynamic sound, a real pleasure to the ears.

Edited 3 years agoUnlike other transpositions on vinyl of works born to be listened on CD, this record sounds really good and I don't think it's a defect comparing it to the level of listening to the version on CD. Maybe they were all the same masterization of this kind of music on vinyl! Rating 8.5
