This is a superb hard funk album. Every song has a tight groove, the arrangements are strong, and the rhythm section (Greg Errico and Larry Graham of Sly & The Family Stone) is fantastic. The vocals of Betty Davis are an acquired taste, but the music is audaciously funky, and every song slaps. This is the 2017 VMP pressing, I've no other version to compare it to, but it sounds great, with ample low end and a rich, full-bodied soundstage. My copy plays nice and clean with no surface noise of note. Good stuff.

This pressing does indeed sound amazing. I don't own original to compare it to, but this is one of the very few instances where I feel I don't need to go hunting. This will suffice, because ... it sounds amazing

Une merveille proposée dans un magnifique écrin. Il était temps vu la qualité particulièrement honteuse de certains précédents pressages.

Incredible pressing, beautiful vinyl and cover. Also includes a coloring page, because apparently 9 year olds love funk.

Recently heard of Betty Davis in a documentary about Miles - and got interested. Picked this up from VMP and it just totally blew my mind. Went online and watched a recent documentary about Betty - called They say i'm different... and she is my new 70's hero. What an artist. Followed her instinct all the way through. Never let anyone tell her how things "should be". And when she found herself in a position where she had to choose between "middle of the road" or her inner voice - she bowed out and disappeared ... literally! no one knew where she was for years. We owe this woman a lot. A supernova for music history - a gem in your collection.

A very excellent funk album that is made even better by the big silver kinky boots that Betty is wearing on the front cover. One day I dream I will own a lovely pair of boots like that (although I would need to hide them from my mam as she would say they were very immoral in the eyes of the Heavenly Father!!)

Under par pressing by Czech pressing plant GZ Media. I have asked the question to 'Vinyl Me Please' why they continue to use a low budget pressing plant like GZ for their reissues but no reply.
