1971! This was a tremendous record for the era given 6 years down the road Throbbing Gristle were confronting to even Punk with a similiar approach. Definitely one for the TG/Industrial fan as for the KR aficianado. My copy of this 4Beards version, from new, does have the slight hint of a campfire smouldering away in the background as does my Cluster & Eno release.

Has taken multiple cleanings to get *New copy sounding anything like that. Many surface scratches for that genuine Rice Krispie sound. When it’s not doing that, sound is actually really good, but, yer know, QC! -

Quite a noisy release - clicks and pops, especially on the second side. I washed the record three times and cleaned the stylus. I wouldn't say that everything is so bad, but it could definitely be better. The sound of the effects itself is decent and spacious. I would compare it with the 180 gr release (which I don’t have), maybe the mass somehow makes a difference, but that’s not certain. It's better to listen loudly on a 5.1 system - it's easy to blow your mind. I'm giving a rating of 4 only for the extraneous noise on the vinyl; perhaps I received a copy with a defect. -

Slight knocking sound from the outro of A1 to the intro of A2. Some minor pops here and there but nothing major. Low surface noise and good fidelity. -
This appears to be a repress from 2010 mastering, that coincides with the 50th anniversary. So aside from a hype sticker, there’s nothing new here. So what, glad to have this, just thought that was funny!

Superb album. Truly experimental and beautifully dark. These guys were truly pioneers in quest of a new sound. -

There were maybe 2 clicks total on side one that I feel can easily be corrected. Outside of that this is an absolutely amazing pressing. Sounds like the soundtrack to a spaceship crash landing on a foreign planet and your whole crew is missing when you awake from a coma and need to keep moving for survival. Grade A stuff -
