David Grusin* – The Graduate (Original Sound Track Recording)

A fantastic soundtrack, but this mono mix is most certainly a sad fold-down from the true stereo mix. Some tracks utilize only the left or right channel of the stereo mix, such as Mrs. Robinson on side 1, as well as Sunporch Cha-Cha-Cha. April Come She Will is very sibilant and harsh sounding, while the stereo mix on my 70s repress of Sounds of Silence is very crisp and dynamic, despite both being closer to the inner rings of their respective sides of the disc.

this looks beautiful but sounds like a heavy blanket is over the speakers. There are so many orig Columbia 2 eyes out there for no money and sound a million times better than this, and for a fraction of the price. Really really awful, lifeless. And even though the Dave Grusion songs sound decent, the Simon & Garfunkel sound abysmal, if you already have this, when you come across an orig 2 eye in either mono or stereo, pick it up and be amazed at the difference. Mi copia llegó increíblemente ondulada. Por suerte la aguja sigue el serpenteo con gran habilidad y al contrario de lo puedas imaginar el álbum suena muy bien. Apenas defectos apreciables. Buen volumen y pegada. Algún click nada molesto. El escoltado como digo pobre pero con resultado notable.

I very much doubt this edition is from 1972, as this particular edition here:

- is with their modernised label, and was thus released afterwards. I'm guessing this one would have to be from '68 or '69, as the orange label it is on predates others.

Sounds as though the pre-Bookends versions of "Mrs. Robinson" are reduced to rough-drafts while it's a shame "The Big Bright Green Pleasure Machine" isn't the full version... Briefly had the latter song on a '45' since I lament over its omission on the Old Friends boxed set and bought THE SOUNDS OF SILENCE to retrieve the studio version of A Most Peculiar Man a live version is substituted for, so I guess I'll go back to PARSLEY, SAGE, ROSEMARY AND THYME to also get "A Simple Desultory Philippic" which I also miss having, but this soundtrack is a different type of catch-all of the Immortal Duo's best or at least most-recognizable stuff... Though hard to get past the David Grusin scoring, of which is mainly fluff... -- Dave

I can hear the layer of vocal harmonies. Beautiful songs and wonderful pressing.

This is a great sounding Santa Maria Pressing. I am Impressed.

Great movie and just as good a soundtrack. At times jazzy and other times nice and mellow. Its got the whole package

Some surface noise, but really only between tracks. Nice looking pressing of a classic!
