2nd Album Revolution # 9:
I have to be honest here, even though "Prince's" "HITnRUN Phase One" is still part of the 2nd Album Revolution, I only feel like a hand full of songs are worth mentioning here...Coming off the FANTASTIC "Art Official Age", "Prince" once again had Joshua Welton" (husband to "3rdEyeGirl" member, "Hannan Welton") in the co-producers chair...
Now, EVERBODY knows that I am a Prince guy (in fact I KILLED IT for my Wife the first couple of years of our Marriage), and I have everything since 1978 (and I mean EVERYTHING!!!!!), but half of this record is exactly what I continue to complain about the sound of today's music.
Now half of the album is Very Excellent!!!!
Songs like "Million $ Show" (feat. "Judith Hill"), "June", and the Crown Jewel of the album, "1000 X's & O's" are perfect for "Prince" going into the future of a sound that he wants to achieve...
As time has gone by, I have come to that this was a VERY, VERY, VERY Experimental album, so it's because of that, I am willing to give this one a ....I know that some of you would say that I might sound a little hypocritical, and I don't mean to be, but the Album Revolution was hard to end, because of the albums released afterward....Trust me, I get it, you don't always want to sound the same, but after the FANTASTIC "Art Official Age", I was just looking for much better.....
Still, I am looking for a Vinyl release, and because I am that "Prince" Guy, I will get it..... -

The artwork on this album looks like Prince made it himself on Microsoft Paint!! -
Had no idea this was a bootleg until after I bought it and came here to add it to my collection. Played it, and whoever pressed it did a really crappy job because the tonearm waves back and forth like half an inch as it plays! So yeah, this is basically garbage. Too bad because I actually really like this album.

Prince did the "I want to sound contemporary" thing at many stages of his career. Here is the 2015 version of that misguided-ness.
Prince trying to sound like Justin Timberlake is just plain sad, for such a talented artist.
He lost his way long before this of course, but this album serves as his ultimate "I need to be relevant" low-point. -
