doesn't sound good, a lot of low end, not much high end, woolly sound

The "Free Colored Poster with Lyrics" is just a flat, two sided print of the inner record sleeve photo and lyrics that was included as standard with most countries release of this LP.

For me the two shortest tracks are the best, a glimpse of what could have been. More experimental and way more downbeat, 'Aurora' and 'Eventide' are like being caught in the twilight of late evening or the half light of an very early morning. Beautiful.

Music doesn't get more beautiful (or heartbreaking) than their cover of 'I Can Dream Can't I'.
One for the yearners

The Country of origin is South Africa. You can always tell this from the printers name (Interpak) at the bottom right of the back of the sleeve.

Compared to the original... this sounds very digitalized, however they are a step up from the cd releases in the late 90s.

Masterpiece. Enough said. The Carpenters are eternal legends. Forever beautiful.

Probably the last mega successful Platinum album released by the duo before their popularity started waning, and features some of their most well known songs such as Only Yesterday, Desperado, Please Mr. Postman and Solitaire. Recorded using state of the art 24-track console on 30 ips tape, the recording sounds marvellous although my copy is a bit scratchy.

I think it's safe to say that this is probably Carpenters' best album. The production is top notch, Richard's arrangements are impeccable, especially on Solitaire, Aurora/Eventide and I Can Dream. And of course, Karen sounds spectacular. Perhaps their best ballad, Solitaire, is on this album, what I consider the apex of the album. Really appreciate that this set isn't bogged down by a song with Richard on lead vocals, which were often filler on previous albums. No offense to Richard, but like most people, we wanna hear Karen's amazing voice. And Horizon delivered. Let us not forget the two hits, Only Yesterday, which showcases Karen's huskiness in her vocals, and Please Mr. Postman, which is a fine remake of the Marvellettes original. On top of that, this sounds great on vinyl and a must for any person who loves the Carpenters. Love, love, love this album!
