Triumph (2) – Allied Forces

I was very young, maybe 11 or 12, when I bought this record, likely at Sears or Hastings, within a year or so of when it came out. It is still in decent shape but has been well played. it is a great record, I have truly enjoyed it over the years. I recently found a nm copy of the masterdisk stamped pressing, and I could not it up. Maybe I will my old copy to my grandson, who is about the same age as I was when I bought it. He already said he likes the music. Good music knows no age or generational limit.

Got this used at local record store for 3 bucks. Was a tad bit dirty so hey lets clean it up and wow!!!!!!. This pressing sounds fantastic. Especially hot time in the city tonight and fight the good fight . Best sounding 3 dollar rercord i ever got

I picked up this super clean second copy from a similar vintage. This record was on my list to find and an older copy in great condition showed up, so I snagged it. I saw Triumph in concert on this tour way back when, One of my very first concerts.

Triumph's studio sound conjures that same live energy in spades. The guitar tone is huge and there are ripping solos a'plenty. Rik and Gil's alternating vocals are powerful and compelling. The musicianship and execution is phenomenal.

My pressing is powerful and pretty clean. No complaints.

This album is such a good time. Despite a lot of serious lyrical themes, it's still a party to listen to. Super tight playing and memorable songwriting. It's scratches a number of stylistic itches that I may have; from hard rock to early heavy metal to prog. On past Triumph albums, notably Just a Game, I felt some of the guitar tone and especially soloing borrowed a bit too much from another Canadian legend, Alex Lifeson, but the tone is true Triumph on here.
I've only ever heard the U.S. black label RCA pressings (1 of which I grabbed today in a $1 section), and it's a really killer sound. Heavy yet well defined for the most part. Badass drum sound.

The 2lp live set in Cleveland is worth the price of ission alone,Sounds amazing!
The picture disc of the actual Allied F album sounds = to the 30th anniversary versions,which are great!
All of the books and extras that come with the box are really cool ..
The 7" version of Magic power live is Awesome!
This is a rare version of Magic Power.
The tribute version of the song Allied forces on the flip side is pretty cool,but I would rather have had another rare live track from the Triumph vault.
Overall its a quality box set.

Fantastic sounding press, compared to my original RCA press, this is very close, to be critical,the original has a little more low end punch,
overall its a great sounding reissue and is well packaged , quality thick recreation of original inner sleeve, cool looking on collectors Gold vinyl !
