Porcupine Tree – Lightbulb Sun

"Tinto Brass - live at Southampton University" is a fantastic live version of the track. I am not sure if this track is available on any other release, but the pack is totally worth it just for this track.

Packaging-wise this is of high quality, with deluxe matte gatefold and inner sleeves. Soundwise this isn't a great pressing though. It sounds quite compressed and especially the high frequencies are pretty harsh sometimes, one of the worst examples is The Rest Will Flow where the hi-hat towards the end of the song is really unpleasant to listen to. The pressing itself also isn't the best with a few spots of quite prominent surface noise or sibilance, most of the time it's acceptable though.

I haven't heard the later K-Scope cut yet where the album is spread across four sides instead of three, maybe that improves the sound.

Plays just as quiet as my black pressing. Great album in the Porcupine Tree canon. I'd have to put it #2 all time behind the masterpiece that is In Absentia and just edging out Deadwing. Bonus tracks are a plus on this 2008 edition. Definitely a white marbled effect and not a solid snow white.

Huge! Perfect pressing. Just perfect. Dynamic, low noise floor, minimal ticks.

Both discs of my copy are slightly warped, and there is a significant amount of noise on the last half of side A and the very end of side C, other than that it's an enjoyable listen, the remastering was nicely done

Just listening to this again after many years. Sounds absolutely superb and better than I had ed. Love these Tonefloat Record Industry pressings. Regarding the colour, it is definitely Marbled. When held to the light I can see the marbled effect but it is only a minor marbling effect.

Ok we understood the color is white but can somebody actually share their thoughts on sound quality?

Sound alright, but terrible pressing. Mine came bent and with a blob (bubble) stuck in a groove
