Roxy Music – For Your Pleasure

Absolutely blown away by how incredibly dynamic the last song on this album is on this pressing. Give that one a listen through and then tell me this isn't a great pressing!

Mine has ILPS 9232 A-1 GGD 2 & ILPS 9232 B-1 GRG 3 (almost the same as variant 4, unless whoever posted it misread the D as a P)

This is a very strange one and probably a fake release.

This should be another misprint I think. With this label reading “all songs written by Brian ferry”.

Someone know how the sound is ? Is it worth to buy ? Thanks

In reference to a 3rd variant, 724384744922 2-1-1 MASTERED BY EMI MFG. IFPI L043, mould 1642. With the HDCD component engaged this is a mind blowingly open and dynamic representation of this seminal work! Without the HDCD component, the low end is epic but it lacks the sparkle and snap. Under both circumstances the disc is loud.

Regardless of the release year of the CD, this edition is a wide open, flat transfer, and as such has significant weight in the low end and plenty of space for the instruments.

In reference to another variant, 786534 . 2:1:9: EMI SWINDON, mould 1422 IFPIL042. A nice sounding edition that suffers from low end roll off.

A tight, crisp, full range transfer of an early master. Compression and some peak distortion.

This pressing is an excellent value. I also have a 1970s Atco pressing of the first Roxy Music album, and it also sounds great.
