The Familiar Ugly – The Parable Of Arable Land

I just brought this home the other day, before discovering it to be stereo (as per the above note).
Side A fades out about 2:48 too early (missing most of that "Free Form Freak-Out" segment) and there's about 0:20 of silence before the runout.
I've used the '78 UK Radar LP to compare this with.

Sounds amazing. A very enveloping pressing, fit for the claustrophobic nature of this album.

Blows all other pressings out of the water. Spine reads RED CRAYOLAS.

This album is essential, truly essential, and deserves to be on every all-time list and record collection, due in part to its ground-breaking sound and historical importance as the Red Crayola foreshadowed industrial, noise rock and post-punk whilst bordering on a dozen other genres that were yet to exist.

I am very happy with my 1978 Radar Records reissue. It’s incredibly loud, none of what I had earlier had come close to this album in of volume, so I sold them all because this is what music should really sound like.

Any comments regarding a noticeable difference between these stereo and mono pressings?

This is probably my favorite album of all time and when I finally upgraded from my original 1967 stereo starter copy in pretty rough condition, I ended up recieving the original 1967 mono version. The stereo pressing really shines on the more immersive parts of the album, especially on the track "Transparent Radiation" and some of the Free Form Freakouts. This gives the album more edgy, novelty LSD hysteria vibe with its often excessive tape manipulation brought out stronger. However, in contrast the mono pressing brings out a more Proto-Punk vibe and really brings out the driving rythms and charged energy of tracks like "Hurricane Fighter Plane", "Pink Stainless Tail", and most notably "War Sucks". The mono version seems to portray the album as a twangy southern take on psychedlic rock and introduce more rythmic and fierce punk undertones. Overall both pressing have intresting takes on the same songs.

I have one version that it's similar to the US stereo issue, but wth the matrix number of the mono issue: (Matrix / Runout: IA-LP-2003 IB, Matrix / Runout: IA-LP-2004 IB). Which version is it?

Are we sure the photos provided here are 1st press labels?

I have a version (bought in the 1990s) that I had always assumed was a replica i.e. it's pretty much exactly the original US stereo issue, with the second variant of labels, but the cover struck me as being produced like an 80s/90s sleeve, not late 60s. It lacks a catalog number on the spine and the matrix number is IALP-2A / IALP-2-B, but is otherwise identical to Red Krayola With The Familiar Ugly - The Parable Of Arable Land?
