Not the original issue, but I love its little idiosyncracies - the vocals sound like they were recorded in a different room to the microphone; the cover is the wrong way round (looking at the front the opening is on the left); and there are only 10 tracks instead of the 12 listed on the sleeve (omitting Piculiar Man and She Cryed)."

I own this copy (not silkscreen, but same matrix runout). Sleeve opens on the right, and as stated above, vocals do not sound as clear as they could. Worth keeping in mind looking at the current price is being sold.

Anyone know anything about this pressing that I can't find on Discogs/etc
It's a copy of this lp with USA/Brooklyn labels - made in Jamaica .
The sleeve has 12 tracks listed, the labels & vinyl actually has 14 tracks.
- extra tracks =side one- Joy in the Morning . Side 2- She want it.
MML-A SIDE-SOUL BEAT-125- AYRE-
MML -124-BSIDE-SOUL BEAT-JONES-
The pressing is horrible & track 7 -B side has a pressing glitch/lump.
Any help/estimated value would be most appreciated .

As with other Studio One LPs of the period, this issue has had effects added (synthesiser-style 'Ba-ba-bow's, etc..)' an attempt to 'modernise' a classic release - what a shame. In my humble opinion - avoid this issue.

In my opinion, this should be the #1 priority for the recent high-quality Studio One reissue campaign. Amazing album with some truly awful represses.

Both "Soul Beat" & "Soul Beat (70's remix)" were released in silk screen jacket. "Soul Beat (70's remix)" was also released in standard printed jacket. "Soul Beat (70's remix)" only has 10 tracks, where "Soul Beat" has 12 tracks.
