David Bowie – Lodger

It contains the complete intro of "Red Sails", which was missing 0.5 seconds on the " A New Career..." box set

I have BOW LP1 but with a white over sticker, RCA LP 3032. Struggling to find it listed.

The final Berlin record (if you exclude "Scary Monsters") and perhaps his weakest of the Berlin records. Nonetheless, Bowie hits on all cylinders here, with great songs like "Boys Keep Swinging" and "Look Back In Anger".

certainly not as good as an original vinyl, or those beloved, rare and expensive 80s RCA discs, but I certainly don't mind this (or the other 1990-92 EMI/Ryko remasters I've heard either)

I think it sounds fine enough to me. I didn't grew up with the original LP or RCA disc though, you might be more inclined to hunt down those if you are obessive about that sort of thing. It's definitely brighter and comparing with other versions makes it sound a bit off for sure, but I can still listen to them and enjoy myself a ton, It's not like the EQ is distracting to me or making me want to reach for another version like other remasters have done for me before, and it's still incredible music within!

Some great bonus tracks on some albums like Low, Heroes and Scary Monsters too, some of which havent carried over to modern reissues or box sets. I've been happy collecting this series :-)

Well I don't think that the recording location is decisive for the name "Berlin Trilogy". In fact, the first album "Low" was recorded in , and "Heroes" (as the only one) in Berlin.

Surprisingly great sound. This album has some issues in mastering that are noted by various sources. And digital remastered version is awful to my ears. This Japanese release has very acceptable sound - it’s crisp and deep as possible. The surface is traditionally quiet.

Great album. Great pressing. I have a copy of this with variant 2 of the runout etchings but has an orange label. Anyone else with an orange label of this pressing?

I don’t understand why yhere are 4 of these here. I don’t see any difference between them. I just bought this and it was difficult to choose which release ir is, I had to pretty much choose one randomly really…

Quick research with barcode says it’s a 1983 German pressing.

I have a BOW LP1 PL 13254 UK, but on black labels, from 1979. It also has the "A - I NO SENSE IS BETTER…", and: "B - 2 …THAN NONE AT ALL". I don't see it listed anywhere. Anyone?
