Probably a 1964 pressing. Label design is the same as other 1964 Microfon releases.

Better sound from the DSD than the AP vinyl counterpart as it seems a smidge livelier and bassier to me but its still not as exciting or lively as required and the frequent tape issues on this release do not help at all. A case of what might have been really

Im amazed AP signed this off. The tape used for this (and the SACD) is struggling badly with alot of flutter and too many drop offs. Add to this the lack of bass and duller transients vs the cheap recentish OJC and all thats left is a quality slice of quiet vinyl in a lovely glossy tip on jacket. To me the sound, mastering and tape itself render this my least favourite listen of Relaxin' ever. My OJC cd, my OJC vinyl and my UHQCD all sound better and dont have tape issues.

Am I the only one who is a little bothered by the inclusion of outtakes and leadin / leadout chatter on this record? It breaks the flow of the album and could surely have been edited out.

My copy is clean, flat and quiet. Very happy words.

I ordered the standard version from Craft recording, and my record has the same Matrix / Runouts as this.

I have all five KPG cuts from these three sessions between 1955 and ‘56 and I can’t decide whether AP/QRP or Craft/RTI is the superior production. They seem like they come from the same Staughton-jacketed series. Mono KPG lacquers pressed by QRP and RTI continually top each other. Remarkable. And I’m listening on a stereo Hana ML. Definitely no need here to try to improve the experience any by spending on a mono cart. Very impressive pressing here.
