This album sounds truly phenomenal. I don't think I've heard such a good pressing on vinyl since CSNY's 'So Far'. It's amazing. It's so well balanced, dynamic, warm and bright. Beautiful! -

This album is just a beautiful piece of art. I had several approaches to this in streaming and finally got it.
The sound is outstanding in every way.
Some clicks and crackles here and there, a half-minute audible scuff on B1 and even a loop on D due to scuff - definitely not a greatest pressing for my copy. -

Nick Cave's music has never been for everyone. He's always been someone who put expression before appeal, and it's hard to imagine that a record designed to express the kind of loss and grief that inspired this one was going to be a fun or exciting listen. So it's a little hard to read some of these comments as anything other than "this is not for me." And that's fine. But if it is for you, then this is a fantastic album and the production value is very high. Great pressing. -

If it fits a single CD, making it a two-CD set makes no sense. This single-disc edition is far superior. The booklet is complete, perfect. Also, I absolutely *HATE* digipaks and the like. They are not durable and look ugly in a very short time, no matter how careful I am with them. If the CD tray breaks (which sometimes happens even when shipping), they are not replaceable. Digipaks are a horrible idea and digisleeves are even worse, as CDs get scratched easily then.
I only bought this album because I found this single-CD jewel-case edition. Otherwise, I would simply just play it on streaming. I refused to buy several albums because they were two very short CDs in horrible digisleeves. I will never understand how anyone could possibly like it better to have two short CDs in an easily damaged cover that does not protect discs properly instead of a single long-playing disc in an easily replaceable cover that protects discs and artwork much more effectively.
Back in the 1980s, people even made cuts on the album to keep them a single-CD, which is even worse. If the album is over 80 minutes, by all means, do make it a two-disc set. But, if the album is only slightly over 70 minutes, there is no reason for this. -

Hilarious commentary on an artist who created and dedicated this album to one person. Hint: you’re not that person. -
