Bon Iver – i,i

does anyone have on how the test pressing sounds?

One of my favourite headphone albums. Clear and well produced. Gets better every time I play it.

pressing has surface noise and very noticeable distortion in some areas, especially the busier sections on side A with vocals, but after cleaning it sounds better, albeit still pretty distorted. i recommend cleaning this one pretty thoroughly. the vocal arrangement is different on the record which is always fun to hear

Side A has problems. Lots of crackling. Mastering/mixing is great when the record itself doesn’t get in the way. Side B was much better.

a really really good piece of art. both: music as artwork sleeve. getting better and better with the time.

Music Inspiration: Genesis/Gabriel is not far away. in a quite positive meaning.
Sometimes I even partly thinking: Talk Talk (the later ones).

Creative music. By every tune. which is different to the one before.

Ein Album, dem man einfach gerne zuhört. Grosse Kunst.

a masterpiece. not the press quality eventually.

I’m not even really a Bon Iver fan, but I bought this for one song. The sound of this LP impressed me a great deal. Especially every damn song.

It needs a proper wet cleaning, but then this pressing sounds perfect. Very quiet and full of life. The best Bon Iver recording that I’ve heard.

I don’t really like the yellow disk- it looks like a frisbee and came scuffed. The pressing sounds fine however.

I’ve had this since it came out. I also spin clean all my records on arrival and this one has always played clean with a quiet background and zero pops. No issues with pressing quality. The mastering on this is probably the best of all of the Bon Iver vinyl releases, which I have. This one just has excellent instrument separation and a good soundstage. It sounds spacious and is well balanced with excellent bottom end.

Is this lacquer cut preferred? The other version has mixed reviews (https://www.discogs.sie.com/release/14041411-Bon-Iver-ii). I wonder if the positive reviews actually have this version as mine sounds very clean.
