Previously unheard mix, shelved before the LP was completed. Inadvertently retrieved for this reissue only. Superseded by another reissue with the original mix back in place.

What happened to Discogs? There are no comments or reviews about the quality of this pressing, the sound, or any inherent virtues of this version. Is it necessary to review the kind of artists they are, or whether we like this or which E, L&P album more? That's what Allmusic is for, friends.
After reading all the comments, I didn't see anything regarding the SOUND and/or pressing quality of this edition. Still, thank you for your input -

Compared to the Manticore Japanese pressing P-8395M it sounds weak, flat, dull and narrow... terrible. Also I don't understand the laïus about 180g LPs being not as good as thinner ones as this is a thick 180g disc (??) Appreciate the extra pictures inside though. -

Matrix on my copy is K53501 A6 and B3. This German pressing sounds very analog and uncompressed. Intersting is that jacket is made in Great Britain by Garrod&Lofthouse Ltd. -

A little bright but easily EQ’d to my satisfaction. The bass is punchy without being too boomy. Everything is where it should be and audible with none of them stepping on each other. Overall a nice upgrade from my worn out and abused 1973 Manticore OG. I will miss the diecut jacket so I am considering building a Frankenstein and swapping jackets. -

Better mastering than the original pressing, but my brand new copy is so noisy it sounds like a beat-up old one!

I have no idea why the notes are referring to vinyl, since this is a listing for the reel to reel edition!? So, here is a tidbit of info, re: stereotape.
Like vinyl with its RIAA curve, tape uses an equalization when it’s recorded. This needs to be undone at playback. The two most common equalizers are NAB and CCIR (the latter is also known as IEC1). Typically, Europe favoured CCIR and the USA went with NAB. CCIR is the more modern of the two and is what most currently produced master tapes copies use. And yet again it’s a different story for most vintage commercial releases, which usually tend to use NAB. -

I honestly on the contrary think it sounds really really good to me ears. I was really worried about it sound but it sounds really good!
