Oliver 'EPIC JOURNEY' Lieb delivers a solid 3 tracker right here! Menacing, hard and distorted sounds weave in out in typical Lieb style. Cybersonic delivers a hard sound with trancier moments that really work.
Mindspace sounds so simple but then again Lieb misleads me time and time again! The bleepy keys remind me of the opening keys you hear on Dave Angel's Sweet Dreams (The Nightmare Mix). The coral vocal reminds of Age Of Chance! The breakbeats are a very welcome addition to this track!
In My Eyes goes a little lighter but again deeper in Lieb's production style. It harks back to the good old 1990/91 type of proper style Trance (Think R&S etc). It even reminds of Joey Beltram's early works on Nu Groove, Alibi, Easy Street and again R&S Records.
This is the first time I have ever heard this EP but trust me a will be buying this and will probably never tire of this very nice piece of work. -
It's hard giving this a 3 rating, I can't fault the remastering though, that's brought these tracks to life again but these days the EP sounds a bit dated now, although track 3 'In My Eyes' shows the future 'Lieb-style' coming into effect nicely...
Solieb as a label is getting very interesting now with loads more goodies to come :)
