referencing Damn. (2×LP, Album) B0026745-01
I never understood the glowing reviews of To Pimp A Butterfly vinyl mastering (not the album - just referencing the sound quality of the vinyl). It sounded underwhelming and compressed.
However, this here is a different story. Very important album for me but was holding off thinking the mastering would be same as what’s on Spotify (similar to TPAB). Wow, I was wrong.
This record is dynamic, punchy, deep and wide. The bass sounds focused and deep whereas the bass on TBAP sounds boomy and a bit muddy. Vocals are clear and the sound design sounds amazing.
Records came a bit warped but otherwise it was noiseless. -
Edited 2 months agoAfter one listen this has become a quick favorite in my collection. The sound is superb but I also did not anticipate enjoying the reversed track listing as much as I did. This is a special one. #02522 -

So Kendrick Lamar signed a second empty gatefold jacket 8000 times? I think that is not realistic, to say the least...

Either I got a really bad pressing, or people's standard for "no surface noise" is so low. I've cleaned mine and the surface noise is just as bad as when I first played it. I hope I'm just cleaning it wrong

I think the cheapo little sleeves are contributing to the minor surface noise. Other than that I think this is a great pressing. The green color is really cool, I don't have anything else quite like it. The gatefold is a nice quality. This is a beautiful, full soundstage and tracks on side C really shine.
