Yes, this was mine about 1-2 weeks ago. Maybe it's a subliminal thing, because of the lyrics and song title! I kept playing it repeatedly but the effect has finally worn off this week. It is a great song, though, with that little carillon like bell melody. Very catchy.

I'm envisioning a video in the style of Björk's "It's Oh So Quiet" (the one that's like a musical, with the dancing mailbox) ... only set in a supermarket, of course. After focusing on the vocalist pining for Sylvie the cashier, the camera pulls back and up to reveal the grocery is filled with people all shopping & working while moving and twirling around in perfectly synchronized choreography... cut to women pushing shopping carts with exaggerated smiles and bouncing walks, old Disney cartoon style, and beautiful, coy Sylvie contentedly ringing up people's purchases... *sigh*, yeah, I've got it all worked out, costumes and all. In my head.

I've also been on a Rago & Farina kick lately, so I've been listening to Expansives - Life With You, and Cariocas - Batida... both making me wish it was 1982 and I was in Italy with a cupboard full of psychedelics.

Heh, speaking of Rago & Farina...

Yeah, this song is similar to "Blue Monday". I'd put it closer to "5-8-6" (the song on Power, Corruption and Lies that sounds like Blue Monday). The vocalist actually reminds me more of Robert Smith than Bernard Sumner. If only The Cure did Italo Disco! Man, I don't know what I'd do. I'd be happy though.

I had a phase of playing this track over and over on youtube only because I was curious about the title. It sounds like a real classic italosong that you never get tired of. Even the subject (there are a lot of italo about the east and China) is classic italo.
Got myself a copy on ZYX just recently. I discovered I had it already on the compilation The Best Of Italo Disco Vol. 5 but somehow never noticed that. That's because I never played the compilation completely I guess...

Yes, China is one you can replay and never get sick of.

The past day or so, I've been playing Sylvi Foster's Hookey a lot. Another one of those "what the heck are they saying in the lyrics" song that just sounds good, no matter if it's mumbo jumbo or not. Great electro bassline in it.

The last 2 days, I've been giving my already worn to shreds David Lyme Bambina record a ton of play. It's one of those marked up, scratched, dirty, stained records that you can't comprehend how it still plays through without a pop or fuzz, but it does. Great records never die, I guess.

I do say something something a couple of times when his accent is completely impenetrable.

I have no idea what he means when he says 'my frame'. Like maybe it's metaphor (like a metaphor in Italian) that I have no conception of. Or maybe it's just nonsense. But I like to think it's a song about glasses.
