Not only less chaotic, more logical. Something cannot be made, mastered or overdubbed before it has been recorded.
If I was editing ♦, I would make some changes to the order, just to group all the like roles together, but I would not edit just to do that.

I never use the drop down order, I guess that only appears in the order it does because it has been added to over time. Whilst there is some logic to the dropdown order, I would not order it exactly as it is now.
I would also enter the publishing credits in the order in which they appear on the release, not alphabetic.

Yeh, that would be good. Would cut out a load of pointless edits. But then, what would the rankhunters do? :-)

i like the ♥ version because it's legal stuff first, followed by production & recording of the music and at the end the manufacturing & dirstribution of the release itself.

the ABC order within the specific roles is beneficial because the alphabet is well versed by everybody it'sthat make it fast to find or check the credits

in the ♦ version are duplicates. was your question a test?

not really but it displays the problem of random entered, shuffled, missing or duplicated LCCN

LCCN should have 4 own sections which follow the actual developement from "music making" to "musik listening"

first section is for the companies & the legal stuff (℗ © publishing etc.)
2nd: production of the music (recording, mixing, remixing etc.)
3rd: production of the item (all around pressing, printing etc)
4th: all about marketing, retail, distribution

a automated order would indeed kill all shuffles and discussions about, and if you compare two or more submissions of the same album they will have the same order and differences are easy to spot...

would like to take advantage of the thread...

i’m very glad to have found a group who share also this idea (thanks to LolH ! i’m sorry if i have launched this thread alongside of your (my very first serious one, to tell you the truth... after only one year of a real activity on the website, and tired, because of this crually missing script on these sections).

don’t know if a miracle will happen a day, but, as i see since last week only, the search engine of the forum threads finally working correctly with my mobile device (whereas it has never gave me any result before, or too much looking for the first word only of my requests), but also, a beta version of our collection page, and, two days ago, an advertisment’s integration (like a test) on a release page, i have the feeling there is actually a reinforced developpers team working on the website.

what it let me think it is the moment for making hear our voice, about this !

that said, after 4 days trying to do the buzz about this one, to receive the more ( +1 ) votes possible, i’m afraid the only 9 received at the moment, will be not enough for the staff takes the request in consideration and makes of this one, a priority... :o(

i keep hope nevertheless, the hundreds of s who probably need, vote !
