We at Discogs believe strongly that all of the community should be free to participate in forum discussions and debates, and should feel encouraged to share opinions and speak their mind. A discourse community, by definition, is a community that comes together around a shared interest or goal to discuss ideas, sort out problems, and engage in mutually beneficial conversation. Attacking others in the community, engaging in trolling / baiting tactics, or otherwise showing disrespect for those who simply state an opinion goes against the goals of the entire community and Discogs as a whole. Anyone found engaging in these or other disruptive behaviors is subject to penalty at the discretion of Discogs staff, which may include a ban from the forums or the site.
We will be evaluating policies and procedures for helping the community interact more peacefully in the database over the coming weeks. At this time, we want to remind everyone of the policies already in place, as published in our help documentation: Message Posting Guidelines.
