Hi, I'm talking about those innersleeves in paper with inner layer in a synthetic material. Has someone ever suspected that a very old one (from the 60's for instance) could have left an invisible deposit on the disc and so affect the listening? I lately noticed that very clean copies that I've bought and that have stayed in those innersleeves for a long time, have a very strange noise, not the usual craclking... I may try to clean them with alcohol and will also consider replacing my antistatic innersleeves (including the new ones) by all paper innersleeves.
But what are your thoughts about it ? Thanks ! :) -

Yes. Do a search for "off-gassing" or "outgassing". It's a thing. I don't trust any plastic inner sleeves.
PS: Even some plastic outer sleeves are bad. See PVC. -

Thanks for your answer! Nowadays those inner layers are made in polyethylen, I'm not sure for the sixties. For a long time, it was adviced to use them to avoid paper crumbs... I just used them lately in fact and just a few. So I guess for those new ones, it's not urgent. But I will definitely replace old ones.
PS: Do you mean that main sleeve PVC protection sleeve can cause damages? -
