Stan Ricker did both the standard ZM1001 and the MFSL cut at half speed. One of the few times MFSL and standard LP done by same engineer (Jethro Tull/Broadsword being the other that springs to mind - those by Jack Hunt).

One of those treasures of vinyl that is essentially valueless, but it's an amazing listening experience. This pressing is beautiful and rich and hits most key songs from A New Hope.

If I had a criticism, it would only be about the sleeve and artwork which are pretty week. This is not much to look at, but hey that's why it's a hidden gem.

Out of all the "star wars music" I have heard, this is still the best sounding version.

This was the only Star Wars soundtrack recording I ever had. I always thought it was "fake" because it wasn't the actual soundtrack and I just assumed it couldn't be as good. But listening to it side-by-side with the original, almost 40 years later, I feel strongly that it's simply better. The recording is better, the performance, everything.

These original LPs are worthless now. This music has been released on CD several times, and the 2012 SACD remaster is stellar.
