Love the tracks on this album but unfortunately it’s ruined by the 3 second repeating crowd sound loop that is mixed WAY LOUDER than the actual music. After each song I almost wince because it sounds atrocious.

This album gets a bad rap about the fake crowd but I really like it. We get a few songs not released on the first two albums. Does anyone know if the versions of the songs on this are different mixes than the first two albums?? Just curious.

Edited 5 years agoThe picture of the backcover in the discogs listen is not from the 1st edition. In the backcover of the 1st edition the first album cover (The Psychedelic Sounds...) is on reverse. I update the listing with the right backcover

Edited 13 years agoAt their peak, the Elevators were a thrilling live act. Keen to capitalise on this, International Artists wanted to get a live album from them. They set up a gig to be recorded, but things didn't go according to plan (as was often the case with the Elevators) and a satisfactory recording was not captured.
Keen to go ahead with a 'live' release anyway, International Artists cobbled together various studio out-takes and demo recordings and then overdubbed some totally inappropriate crowd noise from a boxing match! And here it is...
While some of the recordings here are pretty good, the crowd noise really does detract significantly from the listening experience.
