This record was one of the game changers I believe. It definitely was in a period which I as a turning point where happy hardcore was slowly ending (the chipmunk and cheesy stuff in NL at least, at the gabber party's) and the more drivey, harder and esp. Alpha Juno gabber tracks were slowly starting to dominate the sound of the releases again around mid '96. ohhh what a relief!.... Neophyte was always hard and rough but this record was still quite happy in their , as if they were waiting for that very happy phase to by (hence no releases in '95?) and not make too much concessions to their hard sound, though Execute paved the way for that turning point I believe as it was one of the hardest party tracks at that time and caned a hell of a lot.
Together with the Bodylotion IV release by them as well a month or so earlier (Happy is voor Hobo's) which made everyone realize this happy chipmunk and piano shit was pretty much done, most die hard party go-ers were fed up with it too I , including myself. Execute couldn't come on a better moment. What an energetic track and exactly how I wanted it.

Coming up strong, I think, was a track with the succes of Chosen Few's - Name of the DJ and Chosen on Mokum 46 and 56 in mind maybe. The alternating bouncy kickdrum tracks became more and more popular around this time and Neophyte made a nice bouncy hollow sounding variety of it in their characteristic way.

Though, funny thing is I haven't read anyone mentioning about the B1 Rockin' track but that was my favourite of the other tracks on this EP and was played quite a lot on party's too. Cool variety of harder and typical snaring Neophyte amiga sound with those drums, the build-up ages, cool vocal samples and a phatt kickdrum adding some slightly happy synth vibe in the second part.

Many releases followed this recipe after that transforming the prevailing sound into a proper real gabber and party sound again which I still as one of the best years of the Dutch gabber scene at it's peak. 1996. Still love that awesome cover too!

Fun fact: The girl with long black hair on the back cover, her name is Chris, she's from Scotland and is Jeroen's wife. I met her once and she was lovely. She once wrote an angry letter to Rezerection after its Clash Of The Titans party and complained about how bad the party was.

Oh, by the way, this is one of the best Hardcore records ever made, the main reason I crack a half mongrel over this is because the first time I heard them was when DJ Pavo from Holland played several of these tracks on his infamous JJJ Mix Up set in 1996. Pavo was part of the Thunderdome tour of Australia in 1996 with Bass D and King Matthew and Public Domain.

HERAK-HEKWERK is mentioned on the cover. They mean HERAS-HEKWERK, a big company which provides fences to protect area's and building places. Often used at parties to seperate the public from the artists. I've seen many appearances of Neophyte were they took down these fences in a very aggressive way, resulting in a lot of damage for the company. I guess they have had some trouble with the company. The first time I attended an appearance from the group I was a little shocked to see what they were doing and I can't they destroyed any fences after the year 1996.

This EP was released on the peak of their popularity. Execute is the typical Neophyte driving beat style that made them so incomparable and good. Hard beat and good use of a synth that gives it a mellow touch but actually emphasizes the hardcore feeling.

Coming up strong is the typical gabber sound with a constant Let the bass be louder-sample and a mixed down beat. Very good dancefloor number.

                Same applies for Technoblast!
