Like many a supergroup, Bad Company's true life expectancy as a force in rock n' roll didn't even last a decade. Many could argue that the band started treading water after its second album, yet they released three more before the end of the Seventies. 'Desolation Angels' was better than ‘Burnin’ Sky’ but not as good as `Run with the Pack'. "Rock and Roll Fantasy" is the song everyone recalls and it could be considered the last great Bad Company track. "Gone Gone Gone" and "Evil Wind" are also memorable songs and decent rockers. "Crazy Circles" is pretty good as well but much of the rest just isn’t all that exciting. Ballads such as “Early in the Morning”, “Take the Time” and “She Brings Me Love” are serviceable I guess, but much of the record is fair to middling AOR. Paul Rodgers seemed to take the lion’s share of writing credits as Mick Ralphs contributions seem to be less than on previous records. Boz Burrell wrote “Gone Gone Gone” which was his first credit with the band and would turn out to be the best song he wrote for Bad Company. It was a shame that the band didn't break up after this record but they waited three more years to release an absolute debacle called `Rough Diamonds'. Yeesh! However Bad Company's last album of the 70's does have its moments and is worthwhile but don't expect anything close to what the band did during their first two to three years. Some people might overrate this album due to the fact it was their (the original band I’m talking about) last big seller. It’s all part of my rock n’ roll dream…

Edited 7 years agoI could not locate my copy although the MO, Gatefold copy (Monarch) does come close. the labels are marked correctly but the runout is slightly different. Perhaps a variant?
Matrix / Runout (Side One, etched): ST-SS-784211-A BB M3 MR STRAWBERRY A 24150 10
Matrix / Runout (Side Two, etched): ST-SS-784212 BB-MI MR STRAWBERRY 24150 X

My copy
Matrix / Runout (Side One, etched): ST-SS-784211-A BB M1 MR STRAWBERRY A 24150 10 3 (PR)
Matrix / Runout (Side Two, etched): ST-SS-784212 BB-MI MR STRAWBERRY A 24150-X 2
Matrix / Runout (Side One, label): ST-SS-784211-MO
Matrix / Runout (Side Two, label): ST-SS-784212-MO
The 3 etched on side one is circled as is the 2 on side two. The letter "A" before 24150 are oddly shaped as on side on it looks like a badly written "0" and o side 2 it look more like a clean triangle.
