A most curious and unusually delightful album. Begins with almost corporate sounds, with the press of a touchpad, the soft elevator ascension to a workplace in the clouds begins.
Tranquil, angelic tones of a sirens voice singing ephemeral musings infuse much of the musical tapestry that unfolds here. Various easy listening soft rock melodies play until the 18-minute partially intelligent drum and bass "Refractions in the Plastic Pulse"; the bombastic brazilian influenced "Parsec" breaking in immediately after in a surreal and funky haze as the album builds towards its fantastical conclusion, ultimately leading into organic, almost rainforest-esque synthesizer pulses chirps and bloops/Discotechno.
Reminds me heavily of the works of Nico mixed with that of Aphex Twin and David McCallum. Absolutely marvelous stuff. A shining pinnacle of future jazz and easy listening standard to be sure.
10/10
