I have played this jam many a times and never failed to at least lift my spirits, and hopefully also those of the dancers.
such a positive vibe. for a dj a real accomplishment to produce such a masterpiece of a tune! -
Edited 4 years agoHis real name is Joseph Wood, he wrote "This Time I'm Gonna Try It My Way" and "This Feeling of Love". This recording is taken from a reel that was found in an abandoned recording studio in the Bay Area. The reel was labeled "Joe", and is thought to have been recorded in 1967.
Apparently produced by Ray Dobard of Music City Records.

This is the stand-out track from DJ Shadow's third studio album, The Outsider released back in 2006. A beautiful early 1970's Motown-Esque track with an amazing vocal, who remains uncredited. Sadly, the rest of the album where this track came from was in fact sh . . . I ment *NOT AS GOOD* (No offence, Shadow!).
I hope DJ Shadow's 4th album will have tracks similar to this one, as he dosen't want to repeat Endtroducing again, why not repeat brilliant modern-day soul like this?
