I love this album. The vinyl sounds great, and is clear of any issues as far as I can tell. As for the band, I love Sumac, which is strange, since I don't like anything labeled sludge about 97 percent of the time. This though, is a fantastic album!

My copy has some white smoke on the second LP (sides C and D), and I have seen this in pictures of several other copies floating around online. Is this consistent with all of the clear copies? If so, maybe the colour variant should read something like: “A/B Clear, C/D Clear w/ Smoke”.

Looks like the clear pressing is available again on the Thrill Jockey webshop: https://thrilljockey.com/products/what-one-becomes

I've always been a great Aaron Turner "fan". And this work shows why. Fury, rage, anger - expressed in every note, in every sound, in every song. In the eighties Big Black did that to me. Now he does. This is not metal, this is not avantgarde, this is pure agression and hate. But in a positive way. Yes! This is just perfect!
