This whole release feels contrived and disted to me and that surprised me. Check out the first Yeti release where you will find a couple great tracks especially the Track Tribal Gathering.

Edit: I listened to this again today, a few years after my first review, wondering if I had been mistaken on my review somehow. That does happen every now and then. But after listening to this again, I still feel the same way. There are a few excellent moments on this release, but for the most part, it still feels disted with sounds and percussion samples feeling harsh and out of place. The story line is just not believable to me. I am sure all the artists did not take this assignment lightly, but for me, I have no interest in listening to this a 3rd time.

I think this Mystery of the Yeti misses something, that the first one had, where all the artists worked together on all the tracks. Every song vary quite a bit from each other and that always bothers the journey, that a compilation of this kind is supposed to produce. The first two songs are very promising and when listened separately they manage to lift me up to different dimensions, especially Hallucinogen's Herb Garden, which is, in my humble opinion, the best track he's ever made.
All and all, this is still a powerful album and worthwhile purchase.

another masterpiece from simon, raja, and the gang. highlight track is "herb garden" with the spoken word samples talking about the yeti , mushrooms, and schnapps.
