Good album, not as great as Rapture, but again a great sounding record. You can tell there were various studios used in the creation of this record, slight sound quality and clarity variations can be heard track to track. Some tracks have more focused vocals, clearer instruments, and others a bit less clean.

Anita Baker and producer Michael J. Powell sought to push their winning smooth soul sound to wider audiences by lightening their approach a bit with pronounced jazz shades to boot. It resulted in this great 1988 follow-up to Rapture, albeit its tendency to tread too closely to the formula that made Rapture the high-water mark it was. Thankfully, they recouped a more urban adult and jazz-based sound with 1990's 'Compositions' and came up with Baker's third and final masterstroke.

Excellent European pressing of this great album on nearly dead-quiet vinyl. Superb sonics.

Just Because is easily my favorite track off of this album.
