Bluprint's second album, SLEEPING GIANT, follows in the footsteps of the first: mellow melodies, easygoing grooves. "Inside" is like waking up on a sunny weekend, while "Ruby" has little sax-jazz hints wander through it. The bongos on "Upfront" add some rhythmic interest, but the vibe remains consistently low-key, and the pleasantness just oozes into your consciousness without catching the cortex. "Dirty Dan" ventures into a minor key, and the title track follows that train of thought. The final track, "Defender," is like the most laidback videogame soundtrack ever. The album is pleasant, but just sort of washes over you.
