The remastering seems to have sucked the life out of this record which is a shame. Stick with a 1973 UA pressing.

Great album and it sounds quite good. Decent soundstage, etc. but the pressing is quite noisy. Oh, well Still enjoying it.

Buh. Fresh out of the wrapper and it's like a box of Rice Crispies in milk. Also really tight on the spindle. I've been surprised at the lack of QC with new vinyl. I'm OK with surface noise, but a brand new LP that costs $ 20 -30 should sound brand new. I have chanced onto copies of records that are dead quiet after 30+ years of play. And they cost half the price.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk, I gotta go yell at a cloud now. -

Edited 4 years agoMine has plenty of snap/crackle/pop noticeable across the quiet sections of Bel Air -- this after repeated attempts with the spin clean. Luckily most of that track is not quiet, so it's not bad. Side 1 also has some noise, but again, not terribly noticeable because there aren't many quiet ages.
The hype sticker mistakenly says this album was recorded in 1971. (Actually 1973.) It also mentions this being "Double Vinyl" which it isn't. Wonder who designed the sticker -- maybe the guy who ran the record press?
No code. -
Zero issues with my copy, specifically with side II, no snap crackle pop......Excellent pressing, all these CAN reissues are brilliant!

I got this spoon reissue and the Bel Air side is super noisy. My favorite can track too. First side is clean. Be cautious about this pressing. I’m pretty sure the noise is in different spots for each person so it’s most likely shit quality control at the pressing plant. Be warned.

I purchased this album yesterday and have listened to it a couple of times after giving it a thorough cleaning. I don't have any issues with it at all. Since it is apparently pressed using the original master tapes any anomalies were probably there from the beginning. I am very happy with the album.
-
I had quite a noisy pressing, too. Today I did the wood glue trick and probably 75% of the noise is gone. I’m going to glue it once more and I’m sure it’ll sound even cleaner.
