Um som super gostoso de ouvir, sem perder a qualidade e o virtuosismo do jazz da mais alta qualidade. Um disco para ouvir e reouvir.

Vinyl Me Please (VMP) is putting out a remastered edition on black vinyl as their Classics album for June. No word yet on who is remastering or cutting the lacquers. It'll probably be made available to the public a month or three after that.

"Crepuscule With Nellie" is actually listed as "Crepescule With Nellie" here. (two e's instead of two u's). This misspelling is retained for most/all reissues of this version of the piece, which presents a bit of a conundrum when logging the title here.
The track is missing from most true stereo versions of the album, until a late 70's Japanese pressing corrects the error, seemingly for the first time. -
I have not always been a 50s jazz dude but there are a handful of records that did transcend time for me back in the day. This is one of them for me.
The line up alone is staggering!!! "Well, You Needn't" is spacious, allowing everyone to do do their thing. "Ruby my dear" is a classic. The B Side plays as one song almost. It's nice and "off," just how Monk do. Whenever I watch him play it stresses me the hell out watching his hands hover above the keys. He always seems like he is going to miss the notes.
