Edited 2 months ago"Owl" is the one here. One of my absolute favorites oldskool techno tracks, that screams 1991. The only real techno track that FSOL ever did. The rest 3 tracks on this EP are good too, from the hoover based warehouse/hardcore "tingler" track, to industrial track "bite the bullet babe", to ambient/trance "calcium", they are all great, but OWL is the masterpiece, here.
''OWL'' and ''Metropolis'' are my favorites FSOL tracks ever. Forget the overrated ''Papua new Guinea'', and seek for this record. This is also my favorite E.P out of the pulse series. -
Edited 4 months agoOh my gosh..!!! What an EP. Probably Calcium my fav but they all bangin and have their rightful moments of splendor when dropped at the 'right' moment...top DJs, they knew ;)

Edited 3 years agoCalcium, sounds just as transcendental and otherworldly as when it was first released, perhaps more so now, it is just...magic.

Might be useful to know that Yage's "Calcium" also appears on Future Sound of London's "Accelerator" album (with FSOL as the artist). I'm not sure if it's not exactly the same mix as the one here, but if you're looking for a copy of Calcium on CD, that might be a good option.

Edited 8 years ago2017. And even though this has to be one of the better eps released during that time, with the tingler geniusly using beltrams hover whilst creating an extremely dark and sinister hardcore track that will blow any electro minded person that hasnt yet heard it. And Owl perhaps being one of my personal all time favorite rave gems, which should only be heard while high as fck, at about 4 am in some sweaty abandoned warehouse stuffed with nightcrawlers.
But enough has been said about those two tracks, while people sleep on true fsol class. The real treasure on this ep is calcium, which could even be ahead of time when released today. A beautiful melodic piano track that already has and most definitely will stand the test of time. Lush! An ep worth every buck. Genuine underground hardcore/rave history on plastic. -
TRACK CALLED OWL samples are from jesus loves acid, which also was later samples brilliantly by DJ MAYHEM, for basement records, track was called COLD ACID.
