Starting 05 Aug 1991, copies of this release were sold in the US as Caroline Blue Plate releases with catalog number CAROL 1627-2, distinguishable only by the presence of a UPC-A barcode sticker on the back of the case, obscuring the EAN-13 barcode printed on the tray liner. (There may also be a US suggested list price sticker on the front of the case.)
Later US orders were filled by the US-manufactured Pinnacles, showing the proper label, catalog # and barcode.

Edited 18 years agoTangerine Dream frontman Edgar Froese's solo output always closely mirrored stylistically that of TangD's output at any given time. This 1983 offering sounds in both song construction and sound palette close to TangD's White Eagle and Hyperborea, no bad thing!
Rhythmic opener 'specific gravity of smile'' slow but naively sweet 'the light cone', gauzy/trippy 'walkabout' and the excellent 20min+ 'pinnacles' make up the album.
This album is a good album for its time and is still engaging, at times lovely, but not as 'full' sounding as if the other band were present. Edgar Froese was a brilliant guitarist (and I mean brilliant) but you wouldn't guess that from this album.
