Edited 2 months agoCompared it to the 2023 Europe version here : https://www.discogs.sie.com/release/26550377-Depeche-Mode-Violator
I have both. See my comment on the other side. This one seems a bit louder, higher level of recording, therefore more bass heavy and flattering in side by side, but it could just be the slight increase in volume
Difficult to tell
In any case both version are excellent and one is very cheap ;-)
Ps : I use a battery operated Pro-ject tube box ds2 with 2 turntable inputs easily switchable. I also have cartridges in double (AT 33PTG/II or Ortofon OM20) and 2 identical technics sl1200mk2 turntables or sony ps-x75 depending on listening room -
Fantastic pressing, I'd suggest that the people who say this sounds terrible were either, 1/ Very unlucky with their copy, 2/ Are reviewing the wrong issue of this album, or 3/ Their stylus is worn out / turntable is badly set up. There isn't the slightest distortion in the bass or any remotely screechy vocals on my copy. Buy with confidence and enjoy.

The prices this is being sold for gave me the laugh I needed this morning. Shameless scalpers and scammers – never stop being you.

Top notch pressing. Flat, quiet and dynamic. Music On Vinyl did a really nice job with this one. Definitely in my top tier of quality in my collection.

Just side by side play tested with original UK pressing. The original has slightly more "space" but besides that very comparable in sound quality, soundstage, depth, bass, and timbre of the original.

Edited 4 years agoDefinitive pressing, and the only one you will ever need. DM never sounded more triumphant.

Top notch reissue - sounds amazing with extended dynamic range, deep bass and balanced eq! Can be used as showcase why vinyl is superior (as one commentator below points out)
Don't know why some reviews bellow had a miserable experience -

Overblown distorted basses, shreek vocals (especially on the song "Clean"). Terrible quality. Artwork and packaging is top notch though. Soundwise it's a dissapointment.
