Edited 2 months agoMine copy has some noticeable surface noise but I suspect it's paper particles that fell from that shitty paper sleeve Warp included for some reason. There are no scratches or any spots on the records so that must be it. Will give it a wash and hopefully most of the noise will go away. It's not bad and overly distracting but other Warp releases I own are much quieter. As for the sound, it's incredible and definitely sounds different from the digital release in a good way.
Update: Gave it a clean with an ultrasonic cleaner and happy to report that most of the noise went away. Sounds much better now -

Edited 2 years agoHad two copies and they both sounded awful so sent back, constant surface noise and pops. Shame as one of my favourite albums.

Edited 3 years agoFull of clicks and pops during listening and visually full of scratches (i tried with three copies and each of them had the same problem).
PLEASE PUT THAT DAMN ANTISTHATIC INNER SLEEVES... PLEASE -

Excellent sound, minimal surface noise, however even after thorough cleaning there were pops here and there, more frequently towards the centre of the record

Great sounding record, very few surface noise. Love the dynamics and sound textures on this. Buy one copy if you find it!
