This was the film that my friend Lyndon described to me in full detail back in 77 or 78. It sounded like a must-see. It came to a small cinema near me pretty soon after, so I got to see it too. I describing it to my family over one Sunday lunch but it didn't seem to appeal to them.
Unlike anything else around, although I suppose some German expressionist films come close. The pace, the industrial music, the black & white, nightmarish quality and the alienation were suited to my angst ridden teenage mind.
I bought the album when it came out. My copy had a very large, cinema poster with it, which was on my wall for many years. I've still got it somewhere.
