It is a treble parade! You can especially use "Time after time" to check your stylus and turntable settings ^^. If your system cannot handle the air and the brightness of the cut, you'll be disappointed. A "not for everyone" sound, that I find stunning but far from being addictive or even hi-fi.

I e-mailed MoFi to ask about the audio source since it was missing from the website. Their reply:
" 1/2" / 30 IPS analog copy to analog console to lathe "
They said the website will be updated with this information shortly. -
Edited one year agoGood sounding record.
Initially I thought why so poor recording but then I tried most streaming services and realised the recording is such .
Mofi couldn’t do much to it when the original recording wasn’t too great .
But for what it’s worth is a good sounding pressing.

Mofi have just released a new batch of this after it had been sold out for a while. Apparently on the new releases, the back of the sleeve confirms that this is an AAA record cut directly from a safety tape. This info was not on the sleeve of previous releases.
Was this an AAA record all along, or it is only the new releases that are AAA?

Horrible IGD and sibilance on Time After Time. It's the last track on side 1 so, sure, one expects a slight drop in fidelity. But this is unacceptable. The original pressing had this issue too. Amazing it wasn't fixed for an alleged reissue. No reason to buy this... just get an original. The IGD isn't any better with an OG pressing but it's no worse either.
-
Great pressing that is slightly better sonically than the original. If you have the means to hunt for an original in NM shape in a record or thrift store for under $20, I'd go that route. But if you're inclined to buy it online, you've seen the online prices for a NM original copy of this and have seen they fetch $30+. Might as well go for this Mofi pressing for its overall quality.
-
Good pressing. MOFI overpriced as usual but my copy came flat and quiet (after Degritting). Not compared to any other press but for a 90s pop album it does sound really decent
-
Clean quiet pressing. Sounds like the original -.as it wasn't remastered the DR is the same. Too bad as that seems like an opportunity missed.
-
I played this against a 1st US and 1st Japanese press side to side, 3 A-sides in a row, then 3 B-sides. Just by a tiny bit Mofi wins again. Especially 'Yeah Yeah', they just nailed it.
-
A bit more detailed than the original Portrait US pressing. Flat, defect free vinyl. Worth the $30 spent.
